Postgraduate Life
There are nearly 6,000 postgrads at Cardiff who study all year round
As a postgraduate student, you may be doing a taught or a research degree, part-time or full-time. You may be new to Cardiff or continuing your studies at the University.
What is certain is that your style of study will be different from your undergraduate degree and that your degree will probably require year-round working.
The Graduate Centre
The Graduate Centre, a dedicated facility for postgraduate students and staff, is a partnership between the Students’ Union and the University. Located on the third floor of the Union Building, it is open seven days a week until midnight year-round and is open most bank holidays.
The Graduate Centre not only provides great facilities to aid you in your studies, it also organises social events and training programmes. Postgrad students are part of the Centre’s steering group and volunteers are recruited each year – contact us if you’re interested.
The Union has student officers who can represent your views, within both the Union and the University, and help you get the most out of your time at Cardiff.
They are supported by a part-time Postgraduate Support Officer who is elected each year - don’t forget to vote in the elections! To arrange to see any of them, visit the sabbatical area on the third floor of the Union.
