Finding a House
Cardiff Student Letting, the Union’s very own letting agency, is the first place to look for all your housing needs.
We’re a one stop shop for students looking to rent good quality housing from reputable landlords. Owned and run by the Students’ Union, Cardiff Student Letting is a completely free service.
Other letting agencies charge students fees for finding them a property which can make renting an expensive business! Each property is checked to ensure it complies with current legislation and is presented to a good standard.

Top House Hunting Tips
- Don’t rush! There are more than enough houses for everyone so take your time. Cardiff Student Letting will have new houses coming on throughout the year so don’t panic.
- Make a checklist of what you need from your accommodation; rent, location, facilities, condition etc.
- See Cardiff Student Letting first. They will have a vast amount of quality properties available and there are no agency fees.
- If you use an external letting agent, before you sign anything, check what agency fees you will have to pay and question what it covers.
- Read the contract before you sign it and if in doubt get the Advice & Representation Centre to look over it for you before signing.
- Make sure you are happy with who you will be living with. Once you sign the tenancy, you have entered a legally binding agreement which you cannot get out of.
