Democracy
Cardiff Students’ Union is a democratic, representative, membership organisation
What does this mean? It means that your Union strives to represent the student population, and operates independently of the University according to your needs.
Your Union is run by students, for students and it is our mission to put students first.
By enrolling in Cardiff University, you automatically become a member of the Students' Union. This means that all the services at the Students’ Union are open to you, that you have the right to vote and make your voice heard, and that you have a ready built support system at your finger tips.
Student Council is the governing body of Cardiff University Students' Union.
It holds your elected student representatives to account, and is the forum where students can contribute to the continual process of ensuring that the Students’ Union is acting in the interests of the student body.
Join Student CouncilElections
The elections take place so that students can vote for fellow students to run the Students’ Union
You can’t miss the elections when they’re happening!
There is strong competition for most of the positions, and the candidates will do everything they can to inspire you to vote.
The campus becomes a hive of activity, as candidates display posters, dress up their campaign teams and make brief announcements in lectures.
Your Elections
Every single student at Cardiff University has the democratic right to participate in Union elections.
Whether you are interested in standing for election, or simply want to find out how to vote, take a look at our website cardiffstudents.com.
