Campaigning may seem like the hobby of bearded political activists, but Campaigns at Cardiff are about getting everyone involved and making changes that benefit you – the student body. It is through campaigning together that we have real power to make changes both in Cardiff and nationally with the National Union of Students.
Last year, we campaigned to encourage students to be more environmentally responsible during our “Go Green” week, to give money to charity as part of RAG Society week and to raise their health and fitness levels with “You’re Fit Week” which culminated in our big Union Fun Run. Other campaigns included Hands off Cardiff, Invest in Sport, Get it out for Cardiff and our annual Housing Week during which the Union campaigned to raise student awareness of the issues surrounding house rental.
If you want to campaign on a certain issue, come and see the Exec or join Student Council and write a motion for the Policy Book. Campaigns are your chance to make a difference, so seize the day and have your say!
