Cardiff Students’ Union is famous for live music. From big names to up and coming acts, from celebrity DJ’s to local bands; if you’re a lover of music, you’re coming to the right place.
One of Cardiff’s biggest entertainment venues is situated right here in the Union on the 1st floor. The Great Hall has a capacity of 1,500 and is host to a huge range of events throughout the year. This venue has welcomed pretty much everyone who is anyone to its stage over the years: Pendulum, The Killers, Fat Boy Slim, Kaiser Chiefs, Sum 41, Groove Armada, Bloc Party, Motorhead, Stereophonics and Manic Street Preachers.
You’ll also get to see some great live music in Solus Nightclub, our 1,900 capacity venue on the 2nd floor. Whether it’s a live band or a guest DJ at a regular club night, you’ll find them in Solus. In the last year we’ve seen Zane Lowe, Mr Scruff, The Blackout, Maccabees, Madina Lake, Fratellis, Lost Prophets, Scratch Perverts and Escape The Fate.
We’ve got a brilliant line up for you this year including Bat for Lashes, Noisettes, Biffy Clyro, White Lies, Tinchy Stryder and Trivium.
