Council Tax
If you’re renting accommodation after you graduate, don’t forget that you will need to start paying council tax. It’s worth sorting this out as soon as you move in otherwise you can be hit with a very large bill at the end of the financial year in March.
It’s also worth remembering that if you are the only non-student in a shared house, then you are solely responsible for paying the council tax bill. On the plus side, you may qualify for Single Person Discount of 25% off the whole bill if you live alone or in a house of students!
